Pattern Name: Ember Meridian

At dusk, a lone traveller reached the final curve of a forgotten coastal road and saw the island breathing fire across the water. The volcano did not frighten him. Instead, its glowing veins reminded him of his father, who had once said that courage was not the absence of fear, but the light we carry through it.

He stayed until the sea turned indigo and the last gold of the sun rested on the waves. Palms bent in the warm wind, hibiscus flowers glowed beside the shore, and the mountain’s ember-red crown seemed to mark a path towards somewhere new. For the first time since his father’s passing, he felt that moving forward did not mean leaving love behind.
